Gilbert Youth Football League is structured to allow participants from all skill levels.

WINTER 2025 SEASON GAMES WILL BEGIN 01/10/2025.

The age cutoff for Divisions are based on what your child's age was on January 1st, 2024. 
(SAME REQUIREMENTS AS OUR FALL 2024 SEASON)


Division Breakdown:
- 6U for kids age 5 to 6 years old (age 4 requires parent as coach)
- 8U for kids age 6 to 8 years old
- 10U for kids age 8 to 10 years old
- 12U for kids age 10 to 12 years old
- 14U for kids age 12 to 14 years old

Why is there a $40 Non-Resident Fee this season?

As a Non-Profit organization in order to keep costs low for everyone we are a member of the Town of Gilbert Sports Coalition. This allows GYFL to have preferred scheduling and discounts for field requests as well as discounts for field operational cost. To remain a member of the Gilbert Sports Coalition, we must maintain 80% of our participants as Gilbert residents or have a child that attends a Gilbert School. If we lose our coalition status, this could raise the registration cost for all participants. We are actively looking for ways to control costs and keep GYFL as affordable as possible for everyone.

GYFL Winter Season 2025

*WINTER IS STRUCTURED AS BOYS (Co-Ed) and GIRLS COMPETITIVE SEASON WITH THE SAME AGE CUTOFF as our FALL 2024 Season: 1/1/2024

This is an 6-game season held on FRIDAY NIGHTS AND SATURDAY MORNINGs/ AFTERNOONs in January, February and March with a single elimination playoffs held the first and second weekend after the regular season is completed. Winter NFL Flag is a 5 vs. 5, non-contact competitive season for GYFL. We offer Boys (Co-Ed) and Girls teams. We try to limit teams to 10 players to maximize playing time. We welcome all skill levels but encourage new players to flag football to register for our spring season. This is a wonderful opportunity for players who want to continue enhancing their skills before taking the next leap into tackle football.
 
Games will take place between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm on Fridays (subject to change depending on field availability and league size) and Saturdays can fall between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm (subject to change depending on field availability and league size). Exact schedules will be created and posted 1-2 weeks prior to our season start date of January 10th (First Weekend of Winter Season Games).
 
We strive to represent all 32 NFL teams! Players will receive an authentic NFL reversible jersey for their team and a flag belt that is theirs to keep! Also included with your registration is a pair of NFL Flag shorts. GYFL strives to keep our season fun. We will create and schedule teams based on the skill level of players (input by each parent/guardian). The league reserves the right to modify game schedules to better suit teams as the season unfolds. All teams will participate in playoff games (played subsequently the weekends after the completion of the regular season) - Playoff Champions will receive awards!
 
Coach and buddy requests will be honored to the best of our ability for up to 10 players provided they are registered in the same division. The league is not responsible for a coach or buddy request that does not exist in the division you are registered for. Be sure to include the first and last name of the coach and/or buddy to help assist the league to match them. Only 2 Buddy Requests are allowed. DO NOT place multiple names in one field as the system will not process it correctly. Requests that exceed the 10 player limit will only place the first 10 requests. Later requests exceeding 10 players will be added to a different team. Players who register after the deadline are placed on teams that have less than 10 players. Teams CANNOT request to stay at a lower number of players if the league needs to place registered players.
 
Our program relies on parents and family volunteers to coach and manage our teams! We encourage all family members interested in volunteering to do so during the registration process. We will provide you several resources, along with a comprehensive informational meeting prior to the season to ensure all coaches have a fun and successful season!

Head coaches can reach out to the league by emailing [email protected] to receive a head coach discount. This code MUST be requested prior to completing the registration for your child. Failure to request a code will result in a full charge for your player.
 
Registration will be from October 10th through December 1st. Late Registration may continue after December 1st, based on availability and will carry an additional late charge.

Season Expected End Date: March 8th. 2025
 
Registrations may be accepted after the deadline based on availability and will incur an additional cost of $35.00 for the late-add process.
 
All equipment including jerseys, flag belts & optional player merchandise purchased at registration, will be package by team and distributed to the coach. All teams MUST use NFL Flag jerseys, league-provided flag belts and wear the league-provided NFL Flag Shorts. Any equipment from a prior season not issued by the league as well as custom jerseys that do not represent an NFL team will not be allowed to be worn during game days.

It is the policy of the Gilbert Youth Football League to issue no refunds after a child has played in a sanctioned game or practice. Prior to playing in a sanctioned game or practice a refund of the registration fee less equipment and administrative handling fees will be issued.
